Brighten Your August Days with Sunflowers

I am picking the sunflower for my August flower because we can all use a little more sunshine in our summer days. Especially, living in San Francisco, we've seen very little sun this summer and the sunflower can help us attract the sun. A well-known sunflower characteristic is that the flowering heads track the sun's movement, a phenomenon known as heliotropism. The faces of most sunflowers are turned towards the east. Over the course of the day, they follow the sun from east to west, while at night they return to an eastward orientation. A sunflower bouquette can bring the warmth of the sun indoors and brighten any overcast San Francisco day.

You can view my design portfolio for more examples of floral arrangements with sunflowers. Order sunflowers from Seti Design in August and get a 10% off your order!
